Learn about me at work

Why I do what I do..

I started as a financial advisor to help people get out of debt and build and accumulate wealth.  As a graduate of Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University course (FPU) and coordinator of FPU courses at my local church, I enjoy giving people hope and watching other’s progress through their financial journey.

I enjoy working with...

I enjoy working with people to overcome financial hurdles and achieve financial dreams.

My education consists of...

I have a BA in Economics and French from Denison University in Granville, Ohio and a MBA focused in investment management from Rice University – Jones Graduate School of Business in Houston, Texas.  In addition, I currently hold my Life and Health Insurance (TX), Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) licenses.  I am also fluent in French.

Before M&M, I...

Prior to Majors & Mondragon, I spent over 10 years in dispute and expert testimony work providing economic consulting services.  The first two years related to family law disputes where I traced assets and valued companies in divorce proceedings.  The last eight years I worked in intellectual property and commercial damages analysis where I managed engagements related to patent and copyright infringement, misappropriation of trade secrets, lost wages, and breach of contract for various industries including oil and gas, medical device, biotechnology, construction, retail and consumer goods, financial services, Internet services, computer hardware and software, semiconductors, and telecommunications.

In addition, I have an extensive background in investments and investment management.  Prior to receiving my MBA at Rice Business I worked as an analyst for a financial data vendor, sales assistant in institutional sales for an investment brokerage firm, research analyst for a hedge fund, and Chief Marketing Officer during my time at Rice Business for the M.A. Wright Investment Fund, a student-run investment fund.

I chose M&M because...

I chose to work at Majors & Mondragon (M&M) because the company holds the same values and goals as I do.  M&M has great leadership and mentorship, talented people, and a philosophy to put clients interests and concerns first.

The best part about my career is...

The best part of my career is networking, meeting new people, and developing life-long relationships with my clients.

The best piece of financial advice I have received is...

The most impactful was that everything we are given is not ours and we are only money managers for God.  When I realized I was only a manager I started doing a better job.

My life outside of work

My family includes...

At home, I am a mom and a wife.  I have been happily married to my husband, Matt, for eight years and we have two children, Sloane age six and Preston age four.  As a family we enjoy swimming, biking, camping, and traveling.

In my free time, you can find me...

In my free time you can find me underwater scuba diving.  I am a certified scuba instructor for NAUI, PADI, and SSI.  I have dove all around the world and enjoy underwater photography as a hobby when I am not teaching.

I’m passionate about...

I am not only passionate about the underwater world, but also about nature in general.  I enjoy hiking, nature photography, and traveling.

In the past I have mentored young girls through Girl’s Inc. and JCAP (Juvenile & Capital Advocacy Project).  I am looking forward to finding new opportunities to volunteer as a mentor and am currently an Ambassador for the Texas Gulf Coast Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

My favorite quote is...

“The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.” — St. Augustine.

If I could meet anyone, past or present, it would be...

Christy Wright.  She wrote the book “Business Boutique: A Women’s Guide for Making Money Doing What She Loves” and speaks on how to empower business women.

My favorite food is...

Sushi and seafood in general.  I grew up on Long Island Sound eating fresh fish, lobster, and clams and that is something I could never give up.

My hidden talent is...

I love to sing.  I was a member of the band while at Rice Business and I have been known to hold my own in karaoke competitions.
