Learn about me at work

Why I do what I Do…

I do what I do because I enjoy answering questions and preparing people for the future. Educating clients as the why and how of their finances is what I enjoy the most, and what my clients seem to appreciate the most. I want to prepare everyone I can for the uncertainties of the future through smart investing and achieving a better financial outlook overall.

I enjoy working with…

I enjoy working with people that want to learn and are interested in seeking out help. I work with people at any stage of their life and I like doing things that way because it allows me to solve different problems and be creative in recommendations constantly.

My education consists of… I finished my bachelor’s degree at the greatest institution of higher learning in all the land, Texas A&M University, in 2013.

Before M&M, I…

I originally planned on working in research or education, but I didn’t feel like I was getting enough day to day variety in either of those fields. As a comprehensive financial planner, I get to tackle different problems and answer different questions every day.

I chose M&M because…

I interviewed with several companies when I decided to get into the financial services field and I chose Majors & Mondragon because I know that the advice and long-term relationship model is the way I would want to work with my own financial planner. I would have been a moral fiduciary no matter anyway, but working under a license that requires the fiduciary standard adds more assurance to clients.

The best part of my career is…

I enjoy the problem solving aspect of my job that includes chasing every possibility down to ensure that my clients are getting the best results. Research and number crunching is where I focus the best and find the most satisfaction.

The best piece of financial advice I have received is…

“Spend less than you make, invest the rest.” “Hope for the best, plan for the worst.” All of these clichés have truth to them that will allow people to reach their goals. I believe the best advice is to determine whether you have a mindset of scarcity or a mindset of abundance, and then plan accordingly.

My life outside of work

My family includes…

Just me for now. I am the only child of a CPA and a veterinarian. I am looking forward to having a family with at least three kids.

In my free time, you can find me…

I enjoy relaxing at home and learning a little bit about everything while I’m there. I go to the shooting range and fishing when I can. I would like to take a few road trips across Texas and maybe out to some of those other states. I am starting to get into woodworking in order to start building my own furniture in the future. I also enjoy cooking, I’m really good at all kinds of breakfast foods.

I’m passionate about…

I would like to learn something about everything. I am passionate about learning new things constantly and being able to implement the best parts into my life. Whether it is being able to fix my own truck or an electrical issue around the house, or talking about interesting philosophy or politics, or being able to understand psychologies of interesting people or the most elusive scientific principals. I want to be as well rounded a person as I can be.

My favorite quote is…

‘Remember, your best weapon is between your ears and under your scalp, provided it’s loaded.’ – Robert Heinlein

If I could meet anyone, it would be…

Socrates, provided we could speak a common language. If it had to be an English speaker, as I am a monolinguist, Nikola Tesla. Socrates because he was the first to think about the way people think. Tesla because he had such a strange existence and made such big scientific leaps.

My favorite food is…

My favorite food to cook at home is pot roast with potatoes, carrots, and onions. My favorite food to go out to eat is pizza or good tex-mex.

My hidden talent is…

I can roll my tongue under instead of up. Most people roll their tongue with the side pointing up, I can roll it both ways. That’s probably not a talent but it’s peculiar. I also happen to be very good with math and I am better than most with a handgun.
